With three weeks following his official inauguration as the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has chosen to conduct his duties from the familiar confines of his former Deputy Governor’s workspace since taking up the gubernatorial role.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As observed, the Governor’s Office at Alagbaka, Akure, stands unoccupied by Aiyedatiwa, adding an intriguing dimension to his initial phase as Governor.<\/p>\n

Sworn in just days after the passing of the late former governor Rotimi Akeredolu<\/a>, Aiyedatiwa is described as progressively acclimating to the nitty-gritty of governing and gearing up for official duties.<\/p>\n

During his inaugural speech, the newly sworn-in governor pledged to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor and made a commitment to inclusivity, promising to involve all stakeholders in his administration.<\/p>\n

Post-swearing-in, there were accounts of the governor’s meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos, during which it was alleged that Tinubu recommended a restructuring of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state as a prerequisite before finalizing the choice for deputy governor.<\/p>\n

A reliable source disclosed that the governor is actively engaged in consultations to determine his choice for deputy, contemplating selections from either the central or northern senatorial districts of the state.<\/p>\n

Information gathered suggests that upon resuming official duties, the governor has been utilizing his former office, previously occupied as the deputy governor’s workspace.<\/p>\n

A source in the Governor\u2019s Office disclosed that the governor had yet to move into the main governor\u2019s office as of Friday, adding that Aiyedatiwa was not making use of the Government House<\/p>\n

The source said, ‘The governor has been coming to the office, but he has been using his old deputy governor office to operate and receive visitors. He has yet to occupy the state Government House too. The only place he uses in the Government House is the Presidential Lodge where he receives visitors. The governor\u2019s residential lodge too has not been used by the governor.’<\/em><\/p>\n

Chief Press Secretary Ebenezer Adeniyan, in response to queries, verified the governor’s use of the presidential lodge for hosting visitors, attributing the decision to ongoing renovations, encompassing both the Governor’s Office and other areas.<\/p>\n

‘The governor has been using the Government House; he receives visitors at the presidential lodge. Others are undergoing renovation. Very soon, everything will be alright. The new building in the Government House is nearing completion and he might be using there.’<\/p>\n

‘The main governor\u2019s office too is under renovation; after the renovation, the governor will move in,’ the CPS stated.<\/p>\n
