The Sokoto State<\/a> Government has pledged to provide seamless access to healthcare services for all residents, regardless of their economic or social standing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yusuf Abdulkarim, Director-General of the State Contributory Health Care Management Agency, shared this information in a press statement to newsmen in the state, taking the opportunity to congratulate Governor Ahmed Aliyu on his recent Supreme Court success.<\/p>\n

Aliyu, in his pre-2023 general elections campaign for the governor’s office, highlighted a nine-point agenda, with a particular focus on elevating the state’s healthcare delivery to its citizens.<\/p>\n

Putting action behind his words, he highlighted the significance of the health sector by ranking it as the second-highest priority in the 2024 annual budget presentation to the state assembly, allocating a substantial N31 billion to foster its growth.<\/p>\n

The DG said, \u201cSokoto State Contributory Health Care Management Agency has assured its commitment towards providing easy access to healthcare services to all residents of Sokoto State in respect of their economic status.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMr. Governor, with his recent affirmation of his victory as the Supreme Court, he is focused on his rededication as part of his nine-point agenda in providing quality health to all,\u201d he added<\/p>\n

The DG said the victory of the Governor is the victory of all Sokoto State citizens and with this victory, the citizens will continue enjoying the good work that he has started.<\/p>\n

Abubakar Bawa, Press Secretary to the governor, disclosed this in a statement, saying that the governor\u2019s decision to visit the health facility unannounced followed the series of concerns raised by citizens of the state over the poor health service delivery at the hospital.<\/p>\n

The state government initiated a bi-monthly distribution, providing free malaria, family planning, and HIV\/AIDS commodities to 585 health facilities throughout the state.<\/p>\n

Asabe Balarabe, the Commissioner for Health in the state, presided over the distribution launch and sternly advised facility staff to uphold meticulous management of the allocated commodities.<\/p>\n

The governor, in an unannounced visit in June 2023, inspected the Sokoto Specialist Hospital to evaluate firsthand the caliber of services offered by the institution.<\/p>\n
