The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/a> has invited the former President of the United States, Donald Trump to visit his country to improve his perspective of the ongoing war in the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Zelenskyy explained that he would like to hear Trump\u2019s proposals for ending the war between Russia and Ukraine after the visit.<\/p>\n

He spoke on Wednesday during an interview with Axel Springer which was monitored by Africa Today News, New York.<\/p>\n

The Ukrainian president, however, said he is not interested in Trump\u2019s idea that the war would be over if only Ukraine would forfeit large amounts of land.<\/p>\n

According to Zelenskyy: \u201cIf the deal is that we just give up our territories \u2026 then, it\u2019s a very primitive idea.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI need a real idea because people\u2019s lives are at stake.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The U.S. military said Tuesday it has handed Ukraine an array of small arms and ammunition it seized from Iranian forces as they tried to deliver them to Tehran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.<\/p>\n

The cache included more than 5,000 AK-47 assault weapons, rocket-propelled grenades, machine guns, sniper rifles and more than 500,000 rounds of ammunition that the U.S. seized from four vessels between May 2021 and February 2023, the U.S. Central Command said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese weapons will help Ukraine defend against Russia\u2019s invasion\u201d and are enough material to equip a brigade, the U.S. said.<\/p>\n

Recall that Zelenskyy<\/a> had last week declared that Kyiv will lose the war against Russia<\/a>\u00a0if the US Congress does not approve military aid to battle Moscow\u2019s invasion.<\/p>\n

Republicans in Congress have been withholding tens of billions of dollars in military aid for Kyiv for months.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is necessary to specifically tell Congress that if Congress does not help Ukraine, Ukraine will lose the war,\u201d Zelensky said during a video meeting of the Kyiv-organized fundraising platform United24.<\/p>\n

Zelenskyy said it would be \u201cdifficult\u201d for Ukraine to \u201cstay\u201d (survive) without the aid.<\/p>\n
