Former President of the United States, Donald Trump has declared that he would \u201cbe very proud to go to jail for our Constitution\u201d as he took a calculated dig at those involved in the prosecution of his hush-money<\/a> case.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Africa Today News, New York reports that Trump spoke after the third week of his trial versus New York came to an end yesterday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf anything\u2019s mentioned against certain people, and you know who they are\u2014certain people\u2014anything\u2019s even mentioned, he wants to put me in jail,\u201d Trump told reporters as he displayed various media articles about the trial. \u201cThat could happen one day and I\u2019d be very proud to go to jail for our Constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump said, referring to Judge Juan Merchan, \u201cWhat he\u2019s doing is so unconstitutional. There\u2019s never been anything like it.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the report, Trump also flayed the judge for not telling the prosecution to tell Michael Cohen not to make statements about him or the case overall.<\/p>\n

Africa Today News, New York reports that Judge Merchan has so far refused to place Cohen under a gag order, which Trump\u2019s lawyers previously requested.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no gag order to Michael Cohen. What the judge did was amazing. Actually, it was amazing. Everybody can say whatever they want, but I\u2019m not allowed to say anything about anybody. It\u2019s a disgrace.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd you see it, the media sees it and it\u2019s really very sad. If you look at the legal experts and the legal scholars, every one of them says this trial is a scam,<\/em>\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

Recall that Trump had on Thursday accused Joe Biden<\/a>\u00a0of taking sides with Hamas when he threatened to stop sending US weapons to Israel as it wages war against the Palestinian militant group in Gaza, describing the stance of the president as \u201cdisgraceful.\u201d<\/p>\n
