The President of Barcelona Football Club, Joan Laporta has admitted that Kylian Mbappe\u2019s move to Real Madrid<\/a> is \u201cnot good news.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Madrid had earlier confirmed that Mbappe will be joining them as a free agent.<\/p>\n

Laporta, speaking to Mundo Deportivo, said: \u201cAs a Bar\u00e7a fan, it\u2019s not good news to see Mbapp\u00e9 to Real Madrid.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cBut to be honest, I prefer our strategy to trust a project with players produced and made in La Masia.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI respect our rivals but I keep our Philosophy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Mbappe will wear the No. 9 shirt at the Bernabeu after agreeing a five-year deal.<\/p>\n

Africa Today News, New York recalls that Real Madrid had last week announced the signing\u00a0of\u00a0Kylian Mbapp\u00e9\u00a0on a free transfer, ending their years-long wait for him to join the club.<\/p>\n

“Real Madrid C. F. and Kylian Mbappe have reached an agreement whereby he will be a Real Madrid player for the next five seasons,” the Spanish champions said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Mbapp\u00e9,\u00a0announced last month\u00a0that he would leave\u00a0Paris Saint-Germain\u00a0at the end of the season when his contract expired.<\/p>\n

“A dream come true, So happy and proud to join the club of my dream,” Mbapp\u00e9\u00a0said in a post on X.<\/p>\n

“Nobody can understand how excited I am right now. Can’t wait to see you, Madridistas, and thanks for your unbelievable support. \u00a1Hala Madrid!”<\/p>\n

Sources have told ESPN that\u00a0Mbapp\u00e9 has signed a five-year deal worth \u20ac15 million\u00a0($16.2m) a year after taxes and will also receive a \u20ac150m signing on fee, spread over his deal.<\/p>\n

Madrid are the reigning\u00a0LaLiga\u00a0champions and lifted their 15th European Cup on Saturday as they beat\u00a0Borussia Dortmund\u00a02-0\u00a0at Wembley.<\/p>\n

In 2017, after starring for\u00a0Monaco, Mbapp\u00e9 came close to joining the Spanish giants, but opted to join PSG instead after the club agreed a world-record deal for a teenager, worth \u20ac180 million ($195.4m).<\/p>\n

Mbapp\u00e9 went on to become PSG’s club captain and all-time top scorer with 255 goals, winning six\u00a0Ligue 1\u00a0titles in seven seasons.<\/p>\n
