A chieftain of the New Nigeria People\u2019s Party<\/a> (NNPP), Buba Galadima, has said it would be impossible for the three northern zones to produce a single presidential candidate in the 2027 election.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In an interview with reporters, the former national secretary of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), pointed out that in a democracy like Nigeria, voters have the liberty to make their different choices.<\/p>\n

When asked if the northerners would pick the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, former or his NNPP counterpart, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Galadima said, \u201cWe are not in the church; we are not in the mosque. Why should we speak with one voice?<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is democracy. If you bring three people together, everybody has got a different way of thinking on how to solve a certain problem.\u201d<\/p>\n

A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bode George, has given an excuse for President Bola Tinubu\u2019s poor performance in office in the last year.<\/p>\n

The former military Governor of Ondo State said President Tinubu used his first year in office to study and correct the failures of the Muhammadu Buhari government.<\/p>\n

George, a long-time foe of Tinubu, asked Nigerians to give the president one more year to deliver on his electoral promises and turn around the fortunes of the country.<\/p>\n

Speaking in an interview on Arise Television on Friday which was monitored by Africa Today News, New York, the PDP chieftain said even though Tinubu was part of those who formed the Buhari government, taking over and now leading the nation will be different.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cHe (Tinubu) had never served at that level (presidency). Well\u2026 you will say he was part of the party (APC) that formed the government (of Muhammadu Buhari), but it\u2019s a hell of a different thing taking over and now leading the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be fair to my conscience, he has had that one-year holiday of trying to study the failures of the past administration. I have given him that one year of grace because now he has seen it and lived there.\u201d<\/p>\n

George asserted that Tinubu\u2019s lack of presidential experience warrants a grace period of a year, stating that even former President Olusegun Obasanjo needed time to adjust in his first year in office.<\/p>\n
