The forum, organized under the auspices of Russia\u2019s Security Council, convenes representatives from key multilateral blocs including BRICS<\/a><\/strong>, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Arab League, the African Union, and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). A total of 126 delegations are in attendance.<\/p>\n

On the sidelines of the conference, Russia\u2019s Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu held bilateral talks with several key figures, including Bosnian Serb President Milorad Dodik, Iran\u2019s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Akbar Ahmadian, and North Korea\u2019s State Security Minister Ri Chang-dae.<\/p>\n

Shoigu reaffirmed Russia\u2019s commitment to advancing a strategic cooperation agreement with Tehran, expressing hope for its imminent ratification. He also praised the steady development of ties with Pyongyang, stating that such collaboration has become increasingly vital amid what he described as a “complex international situation.”<\/p>\n

The summit comes amid Russia\u2019s broader pivot toward the Global South and emerging economies, following heightened tensions with Western nations over the war in Ukraine. Observers view the gathering as part of Moscow\u2019s strategy to forge alternative global security architectures, emphasizing multipolarity and mutual sovereignty.<\/p>\n
