Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong<\/a> has asserted that those advocating an interim government after the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari are daydreaming as such will never happen.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

He made the comment shortly after a closed-door meeting with President Buhari on Thursday at the State House in Abuja.<\/p>\n

In a chat with State House correspondents, he asserted that the support of interim government would be working against the principle of democracy, which the President has vowed to uphold.<\/p>\n

He expressed confidence that the President-Elect, Bola Tinubu would meet the expectations of Nigerians and hitting the ground running immediately after his inauguration on May 29, 2023.<\/p>\n

Referencing Tinubu\u2019s service in Lagos State, Lalong said the President-Elect would surpass expectations as the party works towards realising its campaign promises.<\/p>\n

The Department of State Services (DSS) had on Wednesday raised an alarm over a plot to set aside the constitution and install an interim government by ‘misguided’ political actors.<\/p>\n

The secret police also said the plot being pursued by these \u201centrenched interests\u201d is not only an aberration but a \u201cmischievous way\u201d to set aside the constitution and undermine civil rule, warning that such will plunge the country into an avoidable crisis.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Nigeria\u2019s Vice President-Elect,\u00a0Kashim Shettima<\/a>\u00a0yesterday visited former military President, General Ibrahim Babangida, and former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar in Minna.<\/p>\n

Shettima who was in Minna, the Niger State capital, paid separate homage to the two former Nigerian leaders amid Ramadan.<\/p>\n

Africa Today News, New York gathered from sources close to the two leaders that the visits by Shettima were not unconnected with the incoming All Progressives Congress (APC) government to be led by the President-Elect, Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n

The sources said Tinubu is seeking the support of the two elder statesmen.<\/p>\n
