Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari<\/a> has opened up about why he left Daura, Katsina State, for London barely weeks after leaving office.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Buhari, he left Daura for London because he wanted to stay in a quiet place after leaving office.<\/p>\n

He revealed that visitors have been trooping to visit him while in his hometown of Daura and he was getting quite tired about it.<\/p>\n

A statement by Buhari\u2019s ex-media aide, Garba Shehu, reads: \u201cHe chose to go home in Daura hoping to find the type of quiet he wished for himself, but realizing that this was not the case, visitors trooping in morning, day and night, he moved out to a more distant place.<\/p>\n

‘It remains his wish that he be allowed to have his needed rest, and for the Tinubu administration to have the right atmosphere to work on the realisation of the promises they made.’<\/p>\n

Following the end of his administration, Buhari returned to his hometown of Daura.<\/p>\n

However, the president had left Nigeria for London, after which, he met with President Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n

Recall that earlier in the week, Buhari had come out to assert that leading Nigeria as President is one of the hardest challenges in life.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking through his Eid-el-Kabir message to Nigerians released by Mallam Garba Shehu, Buhari called Nigerians to unite behind President Bola Tinubu.<\/span><\/p>\n

Africa Today News, New York recalls that he handed over power to Tinubu on the 29th of May, 2023 following the outcome of the presidential election held on the 25th of February.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Leading a country like Nigeria is one of the hardest challenges in life and urged Nigerians to fully support the Tinubu Administration to succeed and that leadership is a challenging task that demands the sacrifices and support of the citizens.\u2019<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

This came amidst reports suggested that he and Tinubu met in London at the weekend, President Tinubu\u2019s aides had posted a photo of Buhari and Tinubu in a handshake in London. Tinubu returned to Lagos yesterday. At press time, it was not disclosed what the two leaders discussed during their meeting in London. Also, it was not disclosed when Buhari travelled to London.<\/span><\/p>\n
