Health authorities in Kenya have commenced investigations an unidentified illness after no fewer than 90 schoolgirls were admitted to hospital<\/a> in the East African country.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

It appears that the schoolgirls having trouble walking. In viral footage, schoolgirls can be seen stumbling as they walk.<\/p>\n

The students from the western-located Eregi Girls High School experienced trouble walking and signs of knee pain.<\/p>\n

Senior members of the education ministry visited the school on Tuesday and assured frightened parents that everything were under control.<\/p>\n

He said classes would continue as normal for other pupils.<\/p>\n

‘The education department, the county government and public health department are giving a commitment that the children will be treated,’ said Jared Obiero, the regional director of education.<\/p>\n

Blood, urine and stool samples from the ill students were sent to laboratories in Kisumu, a neighbouring city, and the capital, Nairobi.<\/p>\n

Conclusive results to determine the cause of the illness are expected later on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

In another report, on Monday, the U.N. Security Council approved the deployment of a multinational military force, under Kenya<\/a>\u2018s leadership, to address the ongoing problem of violent gangs in Haiti. This decision implies a notable development, as it\u2019s the first such deployment to the Caribbean nation in almost two decades.<\/p>\n

With 13 votes in favour and abstentions from China and the Russian Federation, the resolution put forth by the United States and Ecuador was successfully adopted, highlighting a noteworthy divide in the decision-making process.<\/p>\n

The resolution greenlights the deployment of the force for a twelve-month period, with a mandatory assessment after nine months. Funding for this non-U.N. mission will depend on voluntary donations, with the United States offering a pledge of up to $200 million.<\/p>\n

The vote was conducted nearly a year after Haiti\u2019s prime minister urgently requested the immediate deployment of an armed force. This force is anticipated to subdue the escalating gang violence and reestablish security, ultimately facilitating the long-overdue elections in Haiti.<\/p>\n
